AION PAINTING PROCESS

The new production area completed in 2022, as an extension of the existing headquarters of the company Fael LUCE, has been specially designed to place the new painting plant consisting of self-learning robots for the pre- andretouching and powder application on all Fael LUCE products and accessories. The new area was called PAINTING DISTRICT  and was developed according to the logic of Industry 4.0: innovative and digitalized.
Specifically designed to manage and coordinate the operation of the plant from a remote location with systematic and continuous checks, the new plant implements the innovative painting process called AION, which guarantees consistency of coating quality, speeding up the application time.
This new process, to which all Fael LUCE luminaires and accessories are subjected, confirms the quality of the resistance of the lighting fixtures to more than 3000 hours of salt spray test, conducted according to UNI EN ISO 9227:2017 ASTM D1654:2008, at an accredited independent laboratory. This certification makes Fael LUCE luminaires and accessories suitable for installation in particularly harsh environmental conditions.

 The painting process is divided into three steps, which are in turn divided into several phases:
• ALUMINUM DESODATION PROCESS: consisting of an eight-stage continuous spraying tunnel that prepares the semi-finished piece for subsequent painting phases;
• PAINTING PROCESS: consisting of three remotely piloted booths that coordinates the different painting phases;
• CONVERSION PROCESS: consisting of an high-temperature heated in-line tunnel, necessary for the conversion of the powder so that it integrates on the product and becomes a single body.

AION, the new innovative painting process, guarantees sustainable growth of the company, decreasing the environmental impact and increasing the safety of the production process.
